Background:Vascular Endothelial Growth Factors 121(VEGF121) is one of five VEGF splice variants of 121, 145, 165, 183, 189, and 206 amino acids (aa) in length. VEGF121 is the only VEGF which lacks heparin-binding activity and freely diffusible. VEGF binds the type I transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinases VEGF R1 (also called Flt-1) and VEGF R2 (Flk-1 /KDR) on endothelial cells to activate signal transduction and regulate both physiological and pathological angiogenesis.

Lyophilized protein should be stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at ≤ -20°C for 3-6 months. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles and use a manual defrost freezer.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water at a concentration of greater than 100 µg/mL, and incubate the stock solution at room temperature for at least 20 mins to ensure sufficient re-dissolved. Do Not Vortex! Vigorous shaking may impair the biological activity of the protein.
