Background:SWI/SNF related, matrix associated, actin dependent regulator of chromatin, subfamily a, member 2 (SMARCA2) , also known as BRM , is a member of the SWI/SNF family of ATP-dependant chromatin remodeling proteins. SMARCA2 is the catalytic subunit of a multi-subunit protein complex that utilizes the energy from ATP hydrolysis to alter chromatin structure and activate transcription. It is thought that PROTACS (Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras) as degraders of SMARCA4 (BRG1) and SMARCA2 (BRM) may offer a strategy for research associated with treatment or prevention of cancer by modulation of SMARCA2/4.
