Background：AMACR is an α Formyl COA racemase localized in peroxisomes and mitochondria . It is an enzyme involved in biosynthesis of bile acid and β-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids. It is expressed in the epithelium and salivary gland of proximal convoluted tubules of pancreas, liver and kidney, and moderately in paraurethral glands. The expression in prostate cancer is higher than that in benign prostate tissue. In the study of prostate cancer, it is often used in combination with PSA, p63, 34 β E12 and other antibodies.
